Jupiter Keyword Correspondences and Associations
Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and it radiates more heat than it absorbs from the Sun, giving it its connection to expansiveness. Jupiter is also associated with establishment, religion, and power structure, which gives it the association of rulership and consequently, politics. The religion association naturally segues into devotion, especially considering devotion involves the expansion of a relationship with a deity.
Because of its connection to rulers, Jupiter is also connected to the ethics and behavior of a person and how they express themselves in society. This also gives way to its relation to law. All of these associations together gives Jupiter one of the most important Jupiter qualities, which is that of truth. These also connect Jupiter to higher knowledge and education.
With its connection to expansiveness, Jupiter is associated with success in business and other ventures and thus associated with enthusiasm and humor. In order for people to pursue their material and spiritual goals, it was believed that people should have bodily health (now we know that disabilities and illnesses do not necessarily stop people from attaining their goals). The expansiveness also connects Jupiter to long-distance travel: expanding our horizons and understanding our world.
The negative qualities of Jupiter include bigotry, covetousness, hypocrisy, prejudice, recklessness, self-indulgence, and tyranny. Jupiter’s downsides include indulgence, excessiveness, and idealism. It can also lead you to overextend yourself physically and financially.
Jupiter in the Chart
Jupiter’s position in the chart shows where you are expansive, generous, and unwilling to be restrained or prudent. Jupiter is called the “greater benefic,” as its influence is generally considered positive and life enhancing. When you meet someone whose Jupiter contacts one of your personal planets, you usually experience feelings of optimism. This person is someone with whom you can have fun. They may bring out the best in you by encouraging you to reach greater heights, increasing your self-esteem, or assisting you professionally, personally, spiritually, and/or financially.
Jupiter is also known as the bright one and the Great Benefic.
The Jovian Symbol

The symbol of Jupiter has the cross representing the Earth and a left-facing crescent representing the Moon. Since the crescent is facing out, it signifies a balance outward in time to produce change (unlike in the Saturn symbol where it points inward to keep things static).

Planetary Square for Jupiter
Magical number squares are mathematical objects composed of a square grid with equal sized rows and columns that are filled with as many consecutive natural numbers (starting with 1) that it takes to fill. Each row and column sums to the same number. Frequently, the diagonals do as well.
Jupiters's square is 4x4 and has the natural numbers 1 through 16 (4²).
The rows, columns, and diagonals all add up to 34 and the entire square sums to 136.
To fill Jupiters's square, place 1 in the top right corner. The rest of the numbers are filled in going from the top/bottom rows to the middle, mostly in pairs until reaching the middle. Then the spaces are filled going from the middle to the top/bottom, alternating between the two.

Orphic Hymn 14: To Jupiter [Zues]
O Jove much-honor'd, Jove [Zeus] supremely great, to thee our holy rites we consecrate,
Our pray'rs and expiations, king divine, for all things round thy head exalted shine.
The earth is thine, and mountains swelling high, the sea profound, and all within the sky.
Saturnian [Kronion] king, descending from above, magnanimous, commanding, sceptred Jove [Zeus];
All-parent, principle and end of all, whose pow'r almighty, shakes this earthly ball;
Ev'n Nature trembles at thy mighty nod, loud-sounding, arm'd with light'ning, thund'ring God.
Source of abundance, purifying king, O various-form'd from whom all natures spring;
Propitious hear my pray'r, give blameless health, with peace divine, and necessary wealth.
